Are the prices shown in real time?
Not quite. Stations report prices to the Ministry and the official database updates over the course of the day, so a lag of a few hours is normal. The figure is reliable in practice, but if a saving requires driving several kilometres out of your way, check the price on the forecourt sign when you arrive before committing.
Is a detour for cheaper fuel worth it?
Do the distance maths first. At roughly six litres per hundred kilometres, a ten-kilometre round trip burns just over a litre of fuel.
