Which app is best for paying on-street parking?
It depends on your city, because each council authorises its own operators. Telpark and ElParking cover the most Spanish municipalities between them, while EasyPark is the better choice if you also drive in Europe, since the same account works in hundreds of cities abroad. The practical move is to check which app is authorised where you actually park before committing.
Do these parking apps charge a fee?
Yes, almost all add a small charge on top of the parking tariff, usually a percentage with a minimum amount. In exchange you pay only for the time you genuinely use and can extend remotely, which normally more than recovers the fee: at a meter you pay upfront for time you often do not need, while an app session simply stops when you leave.
Can I extend my parking time without going back to the car?
Yes — that is the main advantage over the meter. You extend the session from the app wherever you are standing, and you can stop it early as well so you never overpay. Bear in mind that most local regulations set a maximum parking time, and the app cannot extend you beyond the legal limit any more than a paper ticket could.
Is it worth booking a car park space in advance?
