How do I know whether a deal is genuine?
Look at the price history, not the crossed-out figure. Keepa for Amazon and idealo for everything else show months of price movement, so you can see immediately whether the product cost the same three weeks ago. Spanish law has for some years required shops to show the lowest price of the last thirty days when advertising a discount, but not every retailer applies that rule rigorously.
Is it worth waiting for Black Friday?
It depends on the product. Electronics and appliances usually see real discounts, although many are just the usual price next to an inflated crossed-out figure, and Keepa's history shows plenty of products cheaper on random dates in October or January. Setting a price alert on idealo or Keepa works better than waiting for one specific date.
Do these apps charge anything or make purchases more expensive?
No, they are free to use and add no cost. They make money from affiliate commission paid by the shops, or from advertising, the same model as cashback apps. You buy from the shop at exactly the price you would pay going there directly; the only difference is that the comparison site receives a commission for sending you.
Do they cover Spanish shops or only international ones?
